CULINARY AND FACILITIES UNIT

 

Culinary Unit

The Culinary Unit is responsible for all activities related to the meal program. Members working in the Culinary Unit provide delicious and nutritious meals for themselves and the other members and staff as well as food for fundraising and special events. Members are engaged in all aspects of meal preparation, from planning menus to shopping, from cooking to cleaning. The Culinary Unit is also responsible for daily operations of Reception and the welcoming of members and visitors as well as for operation of our Lighthouse Snack Bar.

 

Facilities Unit

The Facilities Unit focuses on all needed maintenance and repairs to our facilities both inside and out, as well as maintenance of the Compass House van and car.

 

Compass House Garden

Together the CAF (Culinary and Facilities Units) create and plant our garden area just a block away from Compass House where we grow both winter and summer vegetables and fruits for our Culinary Unit.  The produce we harvest is used in the making of our daily meals and gives everyone a sense of pride and purpose in creating healthy meals for everyone.
