Belonging, Purpose, and Opportunity

Compass House is a welcoming, recovery-oriented community for adults living with mental health conditions.

While doing this, members build practical skills, form meaningful relationships, and pursue goals related to mental health recovery, education, employment, wellness, and greater independence.

This is not clinical treatment. It is a community where people are recognized for their strengths, talents, lived experiences, and contributions.

Our Mission

We are a community rebuilding lives and hope through purposeful opportunities for adults living with mental illness

Our Story

Compass House was created to address an important gap in mental health recovery.

Clinical services can help people manage symptoms, but appointments alone do not always provide the daily structure, relationships, meaningful activity, and opportunities people need to reconnect with community life.

We offer a different kind of support.

Established as a 501c3 in 2014 and accredited by Clubhouse International in 2017, we use an evidence-based, non-clinical model refined over 80 years and validated by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA).

Research shows that purposeful work is a leading factor in mental health recovery. Through meaningful work, members build transferable life and employment skills while developing the supportive relationships essential to long-term mental health recovery.

Some members come to Compass House seeking relief from isolation. Others are ready to return to school, pursue employment, strengthen daily routines, or rebuild confidence.

Wherever someone is in their recovery journey, Compass House offers a place to belong and an opportunity to move forward.
